Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki Empty
PostSubject: Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki   Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki Icon_minitimeMon Mar 28, 2011 11:10 pm

The next match will be between two skilled First Divisions; Kituki, a half-breed Warrior who's skill with a sword nearly got her to the rank of Watcher, and Val'Thaeiv, a quiet Archer who is so trained in the ways of the Rogue that none have yet escaped his deadly, magic-enhanced arrows! This will prove to be quite a match, folks, so please welcome our challengers, Kituki and Val'Thaeiv!

Rules are as follows;

Each participants power will be delegated by a dice roll, randomly rolled by an Admin. The higher the number, the more your power. Highest dice roll wins.

There will be a maximum of three rolls per match. Best two out of three takes it. Post accordingly. Your dice roll numbers will be posted in the ChatBox. This is completely random, so no complaining.

Apprentice each get one dice to roll
5th and 4th Division: 2 dice
3rd and 2nd Division: 3 dice
1st Division and Champions: 4 dice.

In combat, make everything a suggestion, or else it is considered godmodding, which is prohibited. For example;

DO NOT: John leaped up, bringing his sword down and cutting his opponent on the arm.
DO: John leaped up, preparing to cut his opponent with his readied sword.

The second is a suggestion; it gives the other time to react, letting them decide if their character is hit or not.

Though do remember the dice rolls; you must let your opponent hit you at some point, or else the match will go on forever. React accordingly to your opponent's number.

And, BEGIN!

Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki Empty
PostSubject: Re: Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki   Val'Thaeiv vs Kituki Icon_minitimeMon Mar 28, 2011 11:20 pm

Jeytsu had been at the colosseum since before the first battle. But he wasn't going to be fighting - he was just a merchant yet. Although this would be the perfect chance to watch skilled and apprenticing battlers alike, whether they be wizards, rogues, warriors, archers. He had been exploring new ideas as far as life paths went, and maybe this would give him the inspiration.

The last battle consisted of a wizard and a warrior. Despite the wizard lacking in some places, it was still amazing to watch. Being able to shift, to manipulate the elements around you was an amazing idea to the boy. This next fight would be a warrior and an archer. He was wondering how it would play out, since warriors were better in close range and archers were better with a further range... or at least that's what he thought.

Val'Thaeive wasn't just any archer, he was a 1st division. And Kituki was a 1st division warrior. He stood, watching the field with a burning anticipation for what was about to unfold.

Kituki strode on to the field her usual scowl on her face. "Well well well, if it isn't the great and powerful Val'Thaeiv. I'm not losing here." She pulled her daggers and quickly threw the white dagger towards the Archer. The Dagger connected to it's mate by a long rope. It quickly flew towards Val's position.

Striding into the large ring just as Kituki did, he listened to her taunt him, not responding in the slightest, moving only to dodge the dagger that had been thrown at him, quickly side-stepping the small blade. The rope attached to it could prove a hindrance to him, if she could control where it went.

Sighing silently, he activated his bow, the white glow of his brightening his dark, runed skin. Raising his bow, he fired off several test shots, to test the Warrior's reflexes.

Kituki pulled on the rope before blocking the shots with the black dagger, some got through the defence in which she managed to dodge enough to graze her body, here and there but it didn't take her out just yet. The white dagger had turned tip around so it aimed at Val again while it came back towards Kituki.

Kituki took the advantage and charged Val, moving at the speed she learned while training as a rogue. She was effectively double siding him.

Val'Thaeiv side-stepped both daggers just as they were about to connect with him; more of a chance that his opponent would be hit with her own attack, though it earned him a couple of light cuts in his one arm. Leaping backwards to put space between them, he fired off several more shots, this time making one of his arrows shadow another, so that Kituki would be less likely to see it.

Kituki caught her white Dagger and went to block with the black Dagger again but found her self impaled in to the shoulder. Putting her daggers away she pulled out her swords that were of the same design as the daggers, only with out the rope. She started dashing around the field kicking up dirt and dust on all sides of Val'Thaeiv. When significant dust was kicked up covering the field she started striking out at Val'Thaeiv.

Scowling slightly as the dust impeded his ability to see, the Archer blocked what blows he could, though took some at the same time, his arms and back becoming bloodied wherever the woman's blade struck. The pain barely phased him, and instead he focused on his arrows, equipping three with a glyph of tracking and sending them off to wherever Kituki would be next.

Kituki listened as she struck and heard the sound of arrows following her. 'Tracking glyphs. one of Val'Thaeiv's specialties. I'll have to keep moving.' She kept the dust up around Val'Thaeiv. The Arrows were faster than she expected and got hit in the back. Silently grunting she moved to strike again.

Val'Thaeiv dodged out of the way. Certainly going against another 1st Division, one so opposite to his specialties, was putting his skills to the test; it had been a while since he had been challenged.

Gaining a decent distance, he began charging another of his arrows with a more explosive power. Deadly upclose, though it could certainly take him out as well, and it covered a wide range, wider than his volley, depending on how much energy he stored in it. Now, he would just have to stay focused and either take or dodge any attacks sent his way.

Kituki caught her breath while still covered by the dust, she knew where Val had landed and stopped just by listening. 'He's trying to keep me from getting behind again. He's going to volley the area.' She thought as she jumped out of the dust cloud into the air. Putting one sword away she pulled out her dagger and tossed it at the archer, while it was in travel she manipulated the rope to create a quick loop hoping to catch Val if the dagger missed.

Seeing the loop that the dagger had created, Val'Thaeiv cursed inwardly and let the dagger strike him in the shoulder, knowing he couldn't afford to have his arms pinned down. One threat averted, he raised his arrow and released it, aiming for Kituki's airborn body, putting a last 'pull' on it so that if it missed, it wouldn't fly into the audience.

Kituki saw the arrow flying at her and dodged just barely a quick jerk on the rope altered her course while cutting more into Val's shoulder. Once on the ground she quickly jerked the dagger out, and started twirling it in her left hand by the rope. 'It's coming up to the finaly. One of use is going to remain standing......' she thought. "I'm impressed Val'Thaeiv. You've been countering me quite nicely. It's time to finish this and see who is the better 1st Division fighter." She announced and dashed into a charge, spinning the dagger infront of her to create a sort of invisible shield. She readied her sword to strike, knowing his shoulder wouldn't beable to handle the strain of a bow for long.

Val'Thaeiv smirked, still not responding to the woman's words. Instead, clouded eyes watching her approaching figure, he activated the pull on the arrow and directed it back into the arena, aiming it for an area where he would be outside of the range, but Kituki, at her current speed, couldn't be. The arrow connected with the ground, and exploded.

Kituki got hit by the blast behind her. 'Shit!' She thought. It started to knock her off balance and push her forward. She caught her balance and used the speed to her advantage switching to duel swords, she charged faster at Val'Thaeiv with the explosion of the arrow behind her striking fast at the drow as quick as she could, and putting as much power as she could into each attack as she passed him.

Grunting in surprise as the Warrior shot forward, he tried his best to dodge as many attacks as he could, but she was attacking so quickly that it would've been impossible to dodge them all. He protected his face as best he could, taking the brunt of the blows, before he was able to push himself back a ways and fire off a couple of arrows made soully for the purpose of giving him a bit more time to plan his next attack. He had a feeling though, that he would not win. He was seriously disadvantaged, being a ranged against a melee.

Kituki blocked the volley of arrows as best she could letting them slip by her as they damaged and bounced off her body and body armor. Despite the damage she had a grin on her face and a fire in her eyes. She hadn't been challenged like this since Derris. It was invigorating. She wasn't so much a Masochist as much as she just loved challenges. She loved knowing people were stronger than her and that she had the ability to over come such obsticales.

She'd been saving this skill for quite a while, practicing in secret it was the strongest skill she had in her arsonal. It turned her attacks into a dance but can do so much more damage. Charging at Val'Thaeiv, Once close to Drow, she quickly turned into a spin, looking quite similar to a hurricane, with the blades pointing the same way. At such speed, it would severely damage anyone caught with in it's grasp. If not kill them. But Kituki had no intention of killing the one person to give her such a challenge.

Leaping out of the way of what surely would've been a devastating attack had it hit, Val'Thaeiv knew that he match couldn't and wouldn't go on much longer. He was tired, and blood still trickled from his previously inflicted wounds. Still, he wouldn't give up...not just yet.

Moving to the complete opposite side of the ring from Kituki, he pulled out his bow for the last time, knowing that if this didn't hit, he would have to forfeit from lack of energy. Charging the single arrow, he raised it and aimed for the center of the arena, knowing it would encompass almost the entire area, leaving only the fringes, where he stood, untouched.

Kituki eyed the distance between them. 'He's trying to stop me from getting close? wait....another explosion arrow?! Is he trying to predict my movements? At that size I can imagine the distance would be great.... And the power....Thats it!!!' With out Hesitating Kituki charged passed the center of the ring. As the arrow passed she positioned herself between it and the Archer. "It's over Val'Thaeiv! The match is mine!" She shouted just before the arrow exploded drowing out any other noise for several seconds.

Just like before the Arrow propelled her forward, and with the size of the explosion she was on the Drow in seconds. The damage she took from the explosion destroyed the back of her armor and clothing, leaving it bare. Smelling burnt hair she jabbed both swords towards Val's stomach.....

He coughed, feeling warm blood trickle down the side of his mouth. One sword pierced the side of his abdomen, just next to his stomach, the other imbedded in the wall next to him. It had been a good fight, but he was tired, and needed to go to the Infirmary.

"It was a good fight. I am honored to have been your opponent." he stated, his voice slightly raspy. He waited until Kituki had pulled out her sword, before making his way out of the arena and back into the city.

And the winner of the second match is Kituki! A round of applause for her, ladies and gentlemen, and for Val'Thaeiv, who put up one hell of a fight for the win, despite the disadvantage he was at!
